If your facility offers minor, non-invasive or dental procedures in the out-of-hospital setting, then IV might assist anxious patients to comply with the procedure. We assist adults and children.
Oral sedation often has an unpredictable onset and duration of effect. This might not coincide with the actual appointment or treatment time. In certain circumstances patients might also be uncomfortable despite adequate LA, for example when an abscess or infection exists in the site being operated on. Other patients might be too sedated and could even develop breathing problems.
National Guidelines now require all patients receiving oral sedation, to receive continuous dedicated blood pressure, O2 Saturation and pulse rate monitoring. Staff would also need to be ILS trained and the clinician needs to be confident in cannulating in case of emergency.
IV sedation offers a solution to all of the above issues. IV sedatives are highly predictable and our experienced medically qualified sedation experts will continuously monitor your patient and are experienced and qualified to deal with any medical emergency. This will ensure that your clinic list runs smoothly and time-efficiently.
Advanced Sedation Ltd offers an experienced advanced sedation service to dentists, doctors and surgeons who have anxious patients needing a minor surgical or dental procedure, and we come to you.
There are a variety of reasons behind patients requiring sedation. Examples include phobias, anxiety, PTSD, painful, complex or extensive minor procedures. Our mobile IV sedation service helps put anxious patients at ease and will make them unaware of their procedure, which can be done at your surgery/facility out of hospital. Not only will an experienced medical doctor be present during the procedure, but our service should ensure that your clinic list runs smoothly and time-efficiently.
With IV sedation, we can guarantee that patient safety comes first. All patients will get a pre-operative phone call to discuss their medical history and appropriate adjustments can be made to ensure patient satisfaction. During sedation, patient saturation and vitals are thoroughly monitored. Pain levels are also monitored, and all drugs are carefully titrated to effect. Post operatively patients are monitored until they are ready for discharge with a suitable escort. IV sedation is the solution for any anxious patient who would rather not know about their procedure. Even though it is very rarely possible, none of our patients remember much about their procedure.
